1. Information we collect

Depending on how you use 8C, we process the following information:

• Account information: your email address, account identifier, authentication session, and sign-in information.
• Calendar content: calendar names, events, dates, descriptions, notes, ordering, and other content you add.
• Sharing information: email addresses used to invite other people, calendar memberships, and ownership information.
• App preferences: settings stored locally on your device, such as display preferences.
• Technical information: limited technical and security information that our hosting and authentication providers may process, such as IP addresses, request logs, device information, and timestamps.

2. How we use information

We use information to:

• create and secure your account;
• store, synchronize, and display your calendars and notes;
• enable shared calendars and send invitation emails;
• maintain, protect, troubleshoot, and improve the app;
• respond to support, privacy, and legal requests; and
• prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.

8C does not use your calendar content for advertising and does not sell your personal information.

3. Shared calendars

When you join or create a shared calendar, its owner and other authorized members can view and edit content in that calendar. Do not add sensitive information to a shared calendar unless you want those members to access it.

If you invite someone, we process their email address to grant access and send the invitation. You should only invite people whose email address you are permitted to use for this purpose.

4. Service providers

We use service providers to operate 8C. These providers process information on our behalf and under their own security and privacy obligations:

• Supabase: authentication, database hosting, app backend, and server functions.
• Email and hosting providers: delivery of sign-in links, calendar invitations, support emails, and website hosting.
• Apple and Google: app distribution and related platform services when you download or use the app.

Information may be processed in countries outside your country of residence. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for these transfers.

5. Legal bases

Where the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar privacy laws apply, we process information as necessary to provide the app and perform our agreement with you, based on our legitimate interests in securing and improving 8C, with your consent where requested, and to comply with legal obligations.

6. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide 8C, maintain shared calendars, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Calendar content may remain available to other authorized members after you leave a shared calendar. We may retain limited backup, security, and transaction records for a reasonable period.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, or object to certain processing. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To request account or personal-data deletion, email support@8calender.app from the email address connected to your 8C account. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including authenticated access and database-level access controls. No system can guarantee absolute security, so please protect access to your email account and device.

9. Children

8C is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information to 8C.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as 8C changes. We will publish the updated version on this page and change the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
